The Appalachian Trail has currently closed for camping the five mile section from Neel's Gap to Jarrard's Gap because of bears. Bears are known to be more aggressive in the West and for good reason. There is less rainfall and, consequently, less vegetation.

El Camino de Santiago may be the trail of the future. Last year saw almost 200,000 pilgrims attempt it. Probably the best thing about El Camino de Santiago is the number of people a person meets from all over the world.

I have cut the Kindle price of Skywalker--Highs and Lows on the Pacific Crest Trail by 50.2% to $4.95. Dennis Blanchard, author of Three Hundred Zeroes, has also cut the price of his Kindle version to put it in the category of books under $5.
